Kirin Night Cafe - Caffe Lattee Liquor

A Japanese coffee-esque beverage with whiskey? Didn’t Mutineer Jeff invent that years ago? I guess it’s finally ready for the mainstream in Japan. Details are sketchy at best, most coming from a blog with a serious Japan fetish, which claims:

Kirin has launched a new limited edition drink that has the look of a canned coffee drink but the kick of good ol’ alcohol. On sale only at Tokyo area convenience stores from Wednesday January 19th, the “Yoru Cafe” (Night Café) comes in two flavors: “caffe latte liquor” and “tea liquor”. Kirin is likely trying to imitate the success Suntory has had with their Horoyoi brand, a series of chuhai beverages aimed at younger drinkers who shy away from the typical salaryman activity of gulping beer at home. Since younger consumers prefer to hang out in a coffee shop or café as much as a traditional izakaya, Kirin will hope to capture some of that atmosphere through this new concept. Continue Reading »

RedBull Philadelphia
I can’t really explain what is going on in this photo, but all I can say is that I want whatever they are drinking. And as far as I can tell, they are chugging Red Bull like its going out of style.

Technically, the event is over. But I guarantee that if Mutineer Chief Energyologist, Jeff Dorenbush, got wind of Red Bull’s Flugtag, he would have been all over this action-packed, super intense, energy drink-enforced “flying” experience. If given the proper preparation time, Jeff probably would have crafted his own wings from back copies of Mutineer Magazine sprinkled with fairy dust and rubbed with Kryptonite… with one hand holding a Red Bull the entire time.

This past Labor Day, Red Bull went all out for its annual “Red Bull Flugtag” in Philadelphia. “Red Bull Flugtag, which means “flying day” in German, is a competition that dares both the brave and the brainy to design, build and pilot homemade flying machines off a 30-foot high ramp in hopes of achieving human-powered flight.” Continue Reading »

The Mojito will be served with Bacardi Light rum on ice, while the Pomegranate Martini will be served with SKYY Vodka on ice. Both cocktails will be available for sale in economy class, by credit card only, for $9. Continue Reading »

Massow Concept Cycles- The Bull

Mutineer Director of Ops Jeff’s heart stopped beating for approximately 30 seconds this morning when he caught wind of these Red Bull-inspired motorcycles from the future. The motorcycle appears to be an independent project, with no information on designer Barrend Massow Hemmes‘ website and some unverified info on a blog. Continue Reading »

Ever since I added stock car racing to my bucket list after noticing that I only need 50,000 Amtrak points for a “Race Your Own Stock Car” experience, I’ve been on the lookout for some more epic stuff to add to my list, which also includes buying Pabst and organizing a library tasting of Crystal Pepsi.

So you can imagine my reaction when I heard that Red Bull is offering people a chance to free fall from earth’s stratosphere… Continue Reading »

I thought things were getting crazy in the Red Bull universe yesterday on the blog, but Red Bull Energy Douche is taking things to a whole new level. Presented by the fine people at FunnyOrDie.com and endorsed by Mandy Moore, Red Bull Energy Douche proves just how versatile fine beverage can be.

Red Bull in a bottle
Red Bull in a bottle? Incredible!

I drink my Red Bull out of a can, always have. So when I stumbled across rare photos of Red Bull in bottle form, my mind was blown, and the craziness didn’t stop there. The rabbit hole led me to some crazy Red Bull packing from distant lands. More photos after the jump. Continue Reading »
