Skara Brae = Psychedelic

Alan Kropf / Friday, January 2, 2009

If you had a time machine, and you traveled the Neolithic settlement of Skara Brae in Scotland, you would likely enter a world that invented psychedelia approx. 5,000 years before the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Jefferson Airplane. Psychedelic Week

Kava

Kava is generally found in Hawaii and the Polynesian Islands. Even the bottle is not what it seams, wrapped in plastic, designed to look like ceramic.

Salamander Brandy

So I stumbled across an article by Ivan Valencic titled, Salamander Brandy: A Psychedelic Drink Made in Slovenia

The title pretty much says it all. During the fall in Slovenia, people get all psyched up to walk around the forest and hunt salamanders. Continue Reading »

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

In Hunter S. Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Raoul Duke and his attorney are on the edge of the desert somewhere around Barstow and in the heart of bat country. When Duke pulls over to let his attorney do some driving, he pops the trunk to reveal his suitcase full of vices. There are three fine beverages in the suitcase. Can you name them all?
