In an effort to engage its fans as well as provide a platform where mixologists of all levels can showcase their skills, Patrón Tequila has created a Facebook application that challenges people to re-imagine classic drink recipes and develop their own, unique cocktails.
Each cocktail submitted to “Patrón Cocktail Lab” will be up for public voting. Professional mixologists will also be available on the site to provide expert advice, commentary and tips. As part of a broader commitment to encourage responsible drinking and discourage excessive or irresponsible drinking, several of the biggest corporations in the alcohol beverage industry have joined forces with The International Center for Alcohol Policies (ICAP) to develop a website dedicated to helping reduce the harmful use of alcohol.
In three minutes and thirty-six seconds, Infomania’s “Viral Video Film School” Episode 503 rips its way through wine vlog culture. The standard approach for video bloggers seems to be over-the-top enthusiasm and yelling at the camera. That and a strange attraction to the Vlog name “Wine Talk”. Crazy stuff.
Today, several of the crazy minds behind the Internet’s most compelling beverage websites have shown that their humor and creativity extends far beyond mere booze. Some bloggers tricked the world with outlandish announcements, others created alternative websites with ridiculous content, and a few did parodies on other industry professionals.

Like, the first time I was hanging with Gary Vaynerchuk in Jersey and talking about social media and eating lasagna, I told him flat out, “Kid, I’ve flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I’ve seen a lot of strange stuff, but I’ve never seen anything to make me believe that there’s one all-powerful Force controlling everything. Cause no mystical energy field controls my destiny. It’s all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.” But he persisted, and today I’m excited to say that social media is getting me one step closer to time travel. Continue Reading »
Lamprey’s “Three Sheets” is quite possibly the best beverage show ever produced. The show costars Lamprey’s Gremlin-friend Pleepleus, who has his own cult following for his magical abilities, including the ability to communicate with cats and the ability to help women over the age of 90 overcome fertility problems. It’s official. The fine people at Captain Morgan created a social media app that people actually have fun using. Our fellow Mutineers responded appropriately, prank calling each other using revolutionary technology never before available to prank callers. It may have just been the Mutineer staff taking things way too far. Either way, it was epic.Continue Reading »
