Dunkin’ Donuts Sends Fine Beverage To U.S. Troops Overseas

Mon, Dec 21 |

Dunkin' Donuts

A tip of the hat to one of the biggest coffee retailers in the country, Dunkin’ Donuts, and, to a greater extent, their patrons. Dunkin’ franchises in Florida and North Carolina asked their patrons to throw $4 in to buy a pound of coffee that would be shipped overseas to our service men and women. That call was answered en masse, and now three tons of coffee beans are on their way out of the country. According to a Tampa Bay Online article, one box of coffee will go to each U.S. overseas base in the world. Continue Reading »

Most Epic Alcohol Warehouse Crash EVER…Nobody Quite Sure What Happened

Wed, Nov 4 |

Here’s what we know: This is arguably the most epic fine beverage failure I’ve ever seen, and it took place in Moscow. That’s about it. The epicness of this crash is overwhelming to even the most credible of news organizations, who can’t seem to get their stories right about what actually happened. Damage estimates range from approx. $98,000 to $200,000, The New York Times suggests a conspiracy theory, while the Huffington Post is convinced the forklift driver was drunk, though no other news organization seems to agree with them. Gaza Strip Gets Coffee and Tea

A shopkeeper roasts coffee in Gaza City [MaanImages]

I wouldn’t last a day without a coffee, and I imagine quite a few of you would agree (maybe not publicly) with my sentiment. It was, then, with great joy that I read in a Ma’an News Agency article that the Israeli Army would begin allowing coffee and tea to be imported into the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian territory that has been blockaded by Israel since June 2007. Raspberry Ale Turns Snow White Into a Ho

Wed, Oct 21 |

Ho White

Jamieson Brewery, located in Victoria, Australia wants you to know that their Raspberry Ale is not too sweet. That’s why they’ve re-imagined Snow White as “Ho White” for their ad campaign and, in turn, pissed off Disney.

The ad features a Snow White-esque cartoon under the covers with seven half-naked dwarf-types, each of which sporting a new name, like Smarmy and Filthy. The campaign, called “Anything But Sweet”, seems to be aimed at men who think a raspberry flavored beer might be too girly for their tastes.

Whether or not turning Snow White into a “Ho” will attract that dubious audience has yet to be seen. (It seems more likely that they might attract child molesters.) But they certainly have gotten Disney’s attention. Mickey Mouse’s company licenses Snow White’s likeness so they are furious over her new, sluttier look.

The campaign rolled out last week, launching online. Plans for Ho White also include bar coasters to be placed in Australian bars and posters in local liquor stores.

The Great Milk Riot of 2009: Belgian Riot Police and Helicopters vs. Cow Soldiers With Weaponized Udders

Mon, Oct 5 |

Milk Protest in Brussels

This was like “Watchmen” meets “V for Vendetta”. While stray cats rejoiced, riot police were no match for the onslaught of fresh milk which local farmers have apparently weaponized to fulfill their political agenda.

According to the New York Times, European Farmers Protest Fall in Milk Prices:

After months of complaints by European dairy farmers angry over low prices, protesters in Brussels on Monday poured milk onto the streets, hurled eggs and other missiles, and started fires that filled the air with black smoke. Continue Reading »
