Zagat 30 Under 30 San Francisco

The last several months have been huge for Mutineer Magazine and Editor in Chief Alan Kropf. Recently, he was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 list as one of the world’s top 30 business leaders under the age of 30 in food and beverage. Before that, he was selected to Wine & Spirits Magazine’s 30 Under 30 list as one of the world’s top beverage professionals under the age of 30. And also around that time, Alan was named to Folio Magazine’s 13 Under 30 as one of the world’s top 13 emerging media leaders under the age of 30.

It’s been an incredible ride and we’re pleased to announce that Alan was just named to Zagat’s 30 Under 30 in San Francisco, which recognizes the hottest up-and-coming chefs, mixologists, restaurateurs and other culinary trailblazers in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Forbes 30 Under 30

Today the Mutiny took another big step forward with Forbes recognizing Mutineer Publisher Alan Kropf as a 30 under 30 honoree, saying Mutineer is “…a magazine that actually lives up to its name, causing mutiny in bev. culture.”

Kropf is in great company with other honorees including Pete Cashmore of Mashable, fashion entrepreneurs Ashley & Mary-Kate Olsen, NBA star Lebron James, actor Jonah Hill, Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, musician Lady Gaga, and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

According to Forbes:
Who is reinventing the world? Who should you hire today? Who will you be working for in 20 years? Who, in short, under the age of 30, matters? These are the people who aren’t waiting to reinvent the world. FORBES, leaning on the wisdom of its readers and the greatest minds in business, presents the 30 disrupters under 30, in each of 12 fields, making a difference right now.

The impressive selection committee for food & beverage included chef Daniel Boulud, restauranteur Danny Meyer (Gramercy Tavern) and Lee Schrager (South Beach Wine & Food Festival / Southern Wine & Spirits). Big thanks to all that nominated Alan and have long supported this bombastic fine beverage mutiny.

This caps off a big year for Mutineer and Kropf, with other recognitions including Wine & Spirits 30 under 30 and Folio’s 13 under 30.

Wine & Spirits Magazine

Mutineer Magazine’s Editor in Chief & Publisher Alan Kropf is being recognized by Wine & Spirits Magazine as one of world’s top 30 beverage professionals under the age of 30, alongside honorees including Jean-Frederic & Marc-Andre Hugel from Alsace and Raphael Bereche from Champagne.

Sasha Kadey of King Estate is quoted in the article, saying “It’s a post-digital publication designed with a digital look and feel that works for people who consume their information online. The combination of the post-digital design and the almost surreal art vibe of the photography has a lot to do with their connect with their audience.”

An excerpt from the article:
“With the help of Kropf’s brother, Brian, and friend Jeff Dorenbush, they bought an RV and drove up and down the West Coast doing demographic research for the future millennial-mentoring, all-encompassing beverage rag that went national in 2009.”
