Moët & Chandon + Scarlett Johansson = The Reason I Got Into This Business

Fri, Apr 3 |

Scarlett Johansson

This is what it’s all about. A beautiful actress and a very large bottle of fine beverage, in this case, Hollywood starlet Scarlett Johansson signing a bottle of Moët Hennessy with a gold pen. According to Page Six, “Eyes popped Tuesday night at Moët & Chandon’s ‘Tribute to Film’ soiree at London’s Big Sky Studios…” followed by a bunch of stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with fine beverage.

Fine beverage is a beautiful thing…

If you regularly read the Mutineer Blog, you know that alcohol + anything = awesomeness. Today’s blog post is no exception. Enter Beer2-D3, a bold collision of fine beverage and post-modern science fiction. Created by Paul Loughridge, this is an ingenious use of the Heineken mini-keg. Continue Reading »

Zane Lamprey on Mutineer Green Carpet

Things got pretty crazy in New York this past Saturday at Zane Patrick’s Day at the Knitting Factory. The presence of Mutineer Magazine was felt on the “green carpet” as we sponsored the event and the photo area. We interviewed Zane about the event a couple of weeks ago, and that can be read here. Check out a couple of the photos from the event below.

Suze Orman vs. Restaurants

Fri, Mar 6 |

Anything to do with “calling people out” is sure to get my attention, so when I got the Facebook group invite to join “Mom-n-Pop Restaurants Against Suze Orman”, it was game on.

I received the invite from Emily Stoller Smith of the unfathomably awesome Eyrie Vineyards, which we wrote about in Mutineer Magazine Issue 2. People often ask me what my favorite wine is, and Eyrie is definitely in the top three, if not my favorite of all time. Anyways, the invite was from a trusted source, so I felt compelled to enter the fray. Continue Reading »

Kate Moss: Beer Drinking Supermodel

Mon, Feb 16 |

We have all heard about the drugs and cat fighting involved in the shady underworld of supermodel fame. The bitchy attitudes and sense of entitlement that runs rampant in this elitist career never seems to wither. Well one of the high priestesses of supermodel stardom is back in the news and this time she apparently thought it was a good idea to pound some beers during make-up and snub her fellow model. The Groundhog Day “Sweet Vermouth On The Rocks With A Twist”

Wed, Jan 21 |

This is one of my favorite movies ever. Bill Murray plays Phil Connors, a weatherman and continual a-hole with contempt for everything and everyone. Connors is forced to relive the same day in the small town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania over and over. In an attempt to score with his producer Phil is forced to drink sweet vermouth on the rocks with a twist, her favorite drink and a cocktail he obviously detests. According to the director Harold Ramis, Phil has to relive the day for about ten years. So here is a tribute to the ten years of Phil’s imbibing his most repudiated drink. Continue Reading »
