The Bruery Provisions is Closing

Beer

The Bruery Provisions

Southern California’s brewery, The Bruery, who took the craft beer scene by storm with beers like Black Tuesday, Chocolate Rain, Oude Tart, and their 12 Days of Christmas beers, has just announced that they will be closing their Bruery Provisions storefront located in Orange, California. While The Bruery affirms the store was an important part of their company, they have decided that “after examining our growing business, increased production capacity, barrel aging efforts, enhanced Tasting Room, and growing membership societies, it became apparent that Provisions is not the best use of our limited resources.” As such, The Bruery Provisions will stop sales effective January 13th.

In the meantime, “the entire Provisions’ stock of craft beers, wines, cheeses, charcuterie and other artisanal products will be discounted this week. Reserve Society and Hoarder’s Society members will receive 30% off beginning Tuesday, January 8th. The same discount will be available to the general public beginning Thursday, January 10th. We will stop food service effective today, January 8th, and retail service will stop on Sunday, January 13th. Beer from The Bruery will not be included in this sale, but will continue to be available at our Tasting Room, in Placentia.”

This week we are proud to feature Young Veterans Brewing Co. by Army National Guard Vet Thomas Wilder and U.S. Army Vet Neil McCanon. Thomas and Neil are looking to open a brewery in Virginia Beach, and need a little help getting the doors open, so they can make their New Recruit Honey Blonde Ale and Semper FI PA brews. Check out their project and help these veterans bring their project to life.

Beverage Kickstarter Spotlight: Tacoma Brewing Company

Beer

Here at Mutineer HQ, we want to encourage beverage entrepreneurs in their efforts to bring something new to the beverage industry. Kickstarter is a great resource for these people to bring their ideas to life.

This week I am pleased to be featuring a company from my old stomping grounds of Tacoma, Washington. So far Morgan Alexander of Tacoma Brewing Company has been brewing out of a cafe in downtown Tacoma. He needs a new workspace and to upgrade their equipment to be able to handle a higher volume of brewing, so he can continue to bring us everything from Real Ginger Ale to End Of The World Chocolate Chili Stout. Check out his Kickstarter project to see if you can contribute to his efforts.

The Most Epic Beer Commercial Ever? Possibly.

Featuring Wisconsin’s Stevens Point Brewery, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more epic beer commercial than “The End or The Beginning,” featuring their Black Ale. What do you think?
