Bio: Amy Cavanaugh lives in Chicago, where she writes and edits stories about food and drink, travel, and visual arts for magazines and newspapers. She has visited biodynamic wineries in Nova Scotia, explored the culinary scene in Taipei, eaten her way through the Houston Rodeo, covered the annual Barbie convention, and written about these and many other topics. Amy is the weekend editor at Chicagoist, and covers food, the arts, and news for the site. Her writing has recently been published in the Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Plate Magazine, Serious Eats, Time Out Chicago, and other print and web publications. Originally from Massachusetts, Amy lived in Washington, DC before moving to Chicago. She has an M.A. in English from the University of Maryland and a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College. Amy also teaches writing workshops and tutors Chicago Public School students at 826 Chicago. In her free time, you’ll probably find her indulging her love of books, baseball, dive bars, and bourbon.
