Registration has opened for the 2014 Southern California Tasting Event presented by Family Winemakers of California. Family Winemakers of California is an association of family-owned wineries in California established in 1991 to help shape public policy for small wine producers and has an active membership of more than 400 California wineries.
From Alameda to Yountville, over 175 California wineries will be involved with the tasting pouring over 750 wines for consumers as well as members of the trade and media.
“With California accounting for nearly 90 percent of total American wine production, our tasting event is incredibly important for both California wineries and members of the trade,” added Paul Kronenberg, president of Family Winemakers of California. “The Southern California tasting is the perfect setting for wine industry trade members to taste some of the finest California wines in one convenient location. In turn, the tasting gives small, family-owned wine producers the opportunity to have one-on-one face-time, thereby gaining valuable market exposure with their product.”
The tasting will take place Sunday March 9 at the Pasadena Convention Center throughout two sessions. The first will be only open to qualified media and trade, and the second will be open to consumers as well as media and trade. This is the first time the event has been open for consumers.
This year’s theme, “From Our Table to Yours” highlights each winery’s personal story. At the Family Winemakers Tasting, attendees have the unique opportunity to meet face-to-face not only with winery representatives, but often times the winemaker or winery owners themselves.
