But last week, the Hillsboro Hops in Hillsboro, Oregon played their first game as a newly named and formed baseball team. The Hops, a Class A Short-Season team and an affiliate for the Arizona Diamondbacks, were named after hops, a primary ingredient in the production of beer. Oregon produces the second most hops in the United States, following Washington, and has the second most breweries per capita in the US.
