SF Cocktail Week: Day 5 Events

San Francisco Cocktail Week

Day 5 of SF Cocktail Week is here, as is Friday. I don’t think things could get much better for a perfect storm of cocktail awesomeness in San Francisco. Here’s what’s on the agenda for tonight.

The Legends Awards
The Swedish American Hall, 2174 Market St., San Francisco
Tickets: $85 in advance and $95 at the door

The second annual Legends Awards will bring together a night of special table-side cocktails and punches, dinner and show for a 1960’s Vegas experience of joie de vivre and Bond-style swagger. Formal attire, gambling spirit and general Saturday night bravado will be on tap as guests recognize the true innovators, influencers, mentors and historians in the Bay Area. This fête will raise the glass to those who raise the bar for cocktails!

This year’s nominees are:

Trailblazer – Allison Evanow, CEO and Founder of Square One Organic Spirits, for her pioneering efforts in the development of high quality, organic spirits and green business practices in the industry.

Mentor – Erik Adkins, Bar Manager of the Slanted Door, for developing pace-setting beverage programs and the skilled bartenders to execute them across multiple restaurants in the Bay Area over the last decade.

Lifetime Achievement – Miles Karakasevic, 13th Generation Master Distiller, Charbay, for creating and building a family business that produces wine and spirits that attract worldwide acclaim and help to set a standard in craft production.

Renegade – Martin Cate, Owner, Smuggler’s Cove, for being the torch bearer and leader for a new generation of Tiki cocktail culture and Rum connoisseurship.

Scribe – Camper English, Journalist, Alcademics.com, for his steadfast dedication to the craft of investigative journalism in spirits and cocktail culture, and his influence on the new generations of professionals and enthusiasts alike, seeking answers and debate.

“These five individuals have been key components in the development of not only our local culture and community in the Bay Area, but in the evolution the industry as a whole,” commented BCCAC President and Co-Founder H. Joseph Ehrmann. “I’m proud that we are recognizing their efforts and hope that they continue to impact cocktail culture for years to come with their innovation, dedication, and vision.”
