Gruppo Campari’s North American operations arm, Skyy Spirits is looking ahead and adding up to six staff members to its team of 92 at its San Francisco office, including senior brand managers for Wild Turkey and Cordials brands.
“We are in the unique position of being able to hire during this challenging economic environment.” — Andrea Conzonato, Skyy Spirits Chief Operating/Chief Marketing Officer. “We are actively looking to fill rewarding positions that support not only our growing portfolio, but also our increased on-premise and off-premise activities for our established brands.”
Growth in the first six months of 2010 ending June 30th were up a respectful 13.3 percent for U.S. sales and sales in North and South America showed a 46 percent increase. Part of this growth can be accounted for the purchase of the Wild Turkey brand from Pernod Ricard in May 2009.
Campari also signed an agreement in late July to acquire the remaining stake of Cabo Wabo Tequila from rock ‘n roll front man, Sammy Hagar. Skyy’s top products in the U.S. are their original vodka, Wild Turkey Bourbon, Skyy Infusions, Campari, and Cabo Wabo Tequila.
Either way you see it, expansion and job growth in the fine beverage industry can only be a positive sign of the current state of the industry and the economy!
