The moment that many beer lovers in the Pacific Northwest have been waiting for is finally here. Drum roll please … The Cascade Brewing Barrel House is officially open!
For those that don’t know Cascade Brewing, you are truly missing out. From the people that brought you great Lactobacillus-fueled beers such a Cascade Apricot, Vlad the Imp Aler, Bourbonic Plague, and Nightfall Blackberry, inside their new Barrel House you will find 18 beers on tap, a dozen of which are dedicated to their award-winning sour beers, with two other taps that will be reserved for sour beers from barrels tapped directly through the cooler wall. I don’t think it gets any cooler than that. The remaining give taps will pour Cascade’s mainstream beers.
Since nobody likes to drink on an empty stomach, the Cascade Brewing House will feature a limited menu of small plates, nuts, sandwhiches, salads, and soups. Other items that can be found on the menu include a cheese place of local Willamette Valley Cheese and a charcuterie plate with smoked salamis and sausages from the Original Bavarian Sausage deli in Tigard.
Hours for the Barrel House are Sunday through Wednesday 11am to 10pm and Thursday through Saturday 11am to 1am. Minors are allowed until 10pm.
For more information, call 503-265-8603 or visit them at 939 SE Belmont Street in Portland, OR. For a complete and up to date tap listing, be sure to check out their website.
