The Happening: Ebenezer’s Beer Dinner Presented by Sean Paxton

Ebenezer Pub

Thursday, August 19th a feast of Edwardian proportions will take place at the storied Ebenezer’s Pub in Lovell, Maine. The chef for this epic feast will be none other than Sonoma, California’s own “Home Brew Chef” Sean Paxton (famous for preparing the world’s largest beer dinner).

The lucky bastards who get to attend this ode to gastronomica will be dining in style on dishes paired with a rare bottles from Ebenezer’s proprietor Chris Lively.  What sort of pairings will they be? I’m talking 16 mind-blowing courses such as lobster poached in foie gras paired with Cantillon Crianza Helena and crepinettes of coriander cured pork belly, chanterelles and leeks paired with Wild Pannepot De Struise Brouwers.

This will be my second dinner at Eb’s….Last year was the best meal I have ever experienced…way better than the five star establishments I have tried. This dinner is a steal at twice the price….I was on the phone to get my ticket minutes after Sean told me they were available….can’t wait!!!

Bill — You must report back to us how the dinner goes! The menu looks absolutely tremendous, and the beer line-up is mind-blowing. I personally have had the opportunity to indulge in Paxton’s food on several occasions, but never at this level. Looking forward to hearing about your experience!

So wish I could go … but would be too difficult with work, especially with it being on a Thursday night and in the middle of nowhere.

Next year! They gotta be running out of this uber rare beer eventually though :(
