In college, I had a friend that mixed a “diet cocktail” of vodka and fresh brewed green tea (sugarless tea, mind you). Needless to say, I found the combination to be rather unpalatable (okay, it was absolutely terrible). Don’t get me wrong, though. I love green tea. I like vodka. And I have been known to balance my boozing regimen with a regular detoxifying tea routine. But as a cocktail? Eh…
Thanks to Phillips Distilling Company, I can now get intoxicated and detoxify at the same time! Okay, technically that is not a legitimate statement. However, the new UV Sweet Green Tea Vodka is infused with real green tea leaves — which means it has to have some sort of antioxidant property. Right? Please don’t burst my bubble…
Different from all other sweet tea vodkas on the market, the new UV Sweet Green Tea Vodka flavor adds a unique fresh twist on the classic sweet tea drink. “Other sweet tea vodkas available in the market use black tea leaves in their recipes, which is not how sweet teas were traditionally made.”– Dean Phillips, president and CEO of Phillips Distilling Company. “This is not your grandmother’s sweet tea. We saw an extraordinary opportunity to introduce the market to an original sweet green tea vodka. From chilaxing at the lawn party to cocktailing at the posh lounge, UV Sweet Green Tea Vodka is a hot new refresher.”
Chilaxing + Boozing + Detoxifying + Grandmother = PAR-TAY.
Suggested recipes include the ‘UV High Tea,’ one part UV Sweet Green Tea Vodka with two parts lemonade over ice, and the ‘UV Green Water,’ one part UV Sweet Green Tea Vodka with two parts water over ice. UV Sweet Green Tea Vodka is available in all bottle sizes, with a suggested retail price of $12.99 for a .750ml bottle.

I’m a purist at heart.
I’d rather have my green tea separate from my vodka,
but hey, that’s what makes the world go round.
Good read, though.

Yes! Mare telling it like it is. I’d be game to try it though, I’ll try anything once.

I had some great sweet tea bourbon at Tales of the Cocktail and would differently try some sweet tea vodka over ice. Hey its like my mother always said “you only have to try it once”

Think of it this way, though. You can drink green tea without vodka, yes. But if you are going to drink vodka, then why not have it with some antioxidants — for good measure. Right? Right? Okay, maybe I’m trying to hard to justify drinking vodka. But I’m with Alan, totally down to try anything once.

Hi Anne,
A site that features a magazine with chuck-loads of information on wines are rare specialty drinks.
BTW, I wanted to ask you a question about your blog but I couldn’t find a contact form. Let me know if I can email you!

I’ve had the new UV Sweet Green Tea and it is incredible! It tastes just like those Lipton Green Tea beverages. It blows away those regular sweet tea vodkas. There is nothing better on a hot summer day than some UV Green Tea, soda and a lemon.
