What could possibly bring together 10,000 bottles of beer, 1,500 oysters, 4,000 biodegradable bamboo sporks, 300 pounds of cheese, and 2,000 hungry and thirsty attendees? That would be SAVOR: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience. June 5th marked the third annual SAVOR, an amazing event aimed at bringing craft beer drinkers and foodies together for an incredible evening of pairing great food with some of America’s best craft beer. Hosted at the beautiful National Building Museum in Washington D.C., several brewery owners, brewers, and other representatives from 70 of America’s favorite craft breweries were on hand, pouring samples of hand-crafted beers next to tables lined with mind-blowing appetizers and food ready to be paired with the nectar of the gods.
“From all levels of the culinary world, a revolution is brewing: pairing food with craft beer. With the United States now boasting more than 1,500 breweries—the highest number since the pre-prohibition era—the choice and diversity of craft beer has propelled increased interest in cooking with beer and pairing it with food,” – Meghan Storey, Brewers Association.
Here at Mutineer, we know what it feels like to be the tip of the spear in a revolution, fearlessly paving the way for all others to follow. The folks at SAVOR surely know this feels as well. Taking the bull by its horns, SAVOR is committed to showcasing just how perfect beer and food pair together. If you haven’t had a chance to attend this brilliant event, I highly suggest you add it to your bucket list and get there next year.
If you were among the unfortunate to miss the event, you can find an online extension of SAVOR, called 30 Pairings in 30 Days. 30 Pairings in 30 Days is a month-long daily feature that highlights some of the best craft beer and food pairings from SAVOR.
Craft beer and amazing food? I can’t think of a better way to spend an evening, and next year, we hope to see you there!

Thanks for sharing the 30 days of pairings, I unfortunately couldn’t make it to this year’s Savor, couldn’t get out of traveling for work. It looks like this year’s was amazing and I definitely can’t wait to start catching up on the 30 pairings!
