Deschutes Brewery Invades Minnesota
Although currently buried in snow, the Twin Cities have something to look forward to at the end of March. Starting the week of March 29th, Oregon’s nationally renowned craft brewery, Deschutes Brewery, will begin selling its beer in Minnesota.
Initially, Deschutes is only releasing two of its beer labels — its award winning Black Butte Porter and its most popular beer, Mirror Pond. Both will be available in 22 oz. bottles as well as on draft.
Deschutes chose Minnesota as its next market because of the state’s tremendous craft beer culture. “Minnesota is a place where people are passionate about their beer,” said Gary Fish, president and founder of Deschutes Brewery. “Getting our beer to more people who want it and are passionate about it has been part of our plan for quite a while, and we are looking forward to developing that relationship in Minnesota, starting with our two most popular beers. The response so far has been outstanding.”
For its distribution, Deschutes has partnered with Minnesota’s largest distributor, J.J. Taylor. The initial launch will be focused on the greater Twin Cities region and sales will ultimately extend to the entire state.
