BrewDog Launches a Tactical Nuclear Strike on German Brewer Schorschbrau
Those cheeky punks at BrewDog are up to it again. This time, they’ve picked up the gauntlet thrown down by Schorschbrau who bumped BrewDog’s Tactical Nuclear Penguin off of the “world’s strongest beer” throne earlier this month with their Schorschbock. The only way they could have made this promo video funnier is if they had put Biz Markee in a penguin costume. Oh BrewDog youuu; you got what I neeeeed. Unfortunately, I’ll never get to taste it because the West Coast Mutineer Armory intercepts these kind of packages. The Villains!
The “Sink The Bismarck” edges out Schorschbock by 1% alcohol by volume, coming in at a whopping 41% ABV. That’s spirits strength for those of you keeping score at home. These over-the-top beers are using freeze distilling to come up with the high alcohol marks. Freeze distilling takes a beer that has already been brewed and squeezes the water out which concentrates the alcohol and flavor of the beer.
Sink The Bismarck is selling for about $60 for a 12 oz. bottle and will only be sold on the company’s website.

This is awsome on so many levels. First, 41% ABV, that is crazy. Second, a Biz Markee reference . . . need I say more. I loved the commercial for the camera he was in, “Oh snap, look what I saw!”

I’m actually looking forward to BrewDog James working his way over to the east coast…my friend’s bar “Spuyten Duyvil” in Brooklyn will be hosting a “BrewDog Night” and I’m pretty sure they are going to have both Tactical Nuclear Penguin and Bismarck on tap!!! I’ll report back after the March tasting!
