Old people drinking

According to an article, “Heavy drinking helps beat dementia” on the Daily Telegraph out of Australia, “Older Australians who indulge in up to 28 drinks a week stand a beter chance of warding off dementia than those who abstain, according to a new study.

28 drinks a week? That is four a day, one with each meal (Fourthmeal available at Taco Bell), or all four at once if you like to party. I’m not sure if this study applies to older Americans, which could be concerning with how much old people in America love to drive huge steel battering ram cars. What if the dementia still appears, creating old, drunk people who decide to go for a drive? End of the world people!

Black Eyed Peas

Guinness is hosting some pretty epic parties to celebrate it’s 250th birthday, but things have turned awkward in Malaysia, where Muslims have been barred from attending one such celebration featuring the Black Eyed Peas.

According to Reuters, No Muslims at Malaysia Black Eyed Peas concert:

The move comes after a Malaysian Islamic court sentenced a 32-year Muslim woman to be caned after she was caught drinking beer in a hotel and at a time when an opposition Islamic party has moved against beer sales. Continue Reading »

Captain Morgan

So I heard about this and immediately headed over to the Captain Morgan website to learn more, only to be greeted (and blown away) by one of the Morganettes wanting to check my id. Hands down the coolest age verification on the Internet.

But PEOPLE! My amazement did not end there. Introducing the “Captain Morgan Voicemail Tool. It’s simple. You tell a fictional character what to say, and it sends it to a friend of your choosing. I tested this out on our Energyologist Jeff, and it is AWESOME. Continue Reading »

Hunter

The man who once set out across the California desert with a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, and random mixers constantly involved alcohol in his writing in his search for the American Dream. Thompson’s ideas would eventually find their way onto a column on ESPN.com called “Hey, Rube”, which would eventually be compiled and released in the book “Hey Rube: Blood Sport, the Bush Doctrine, and the Downward Spiral of Dumbness—Modern History from the Sports Desk”. Here are a few select fine beverage quotes from the book: Continue Reading »

Wine & Bitch

People and their dogs are crazy, an idea verified by the up coming Wine & Bitch Weekend at The Resort at Paws Up in Greenough, Montana. Events include hand-made dog treats, gourmet human treats, fashion show, and a dog parade…WTF is a dog parade? Billed as “A luxury weekend of fine wine tasting and tail chasing“, this annual event finally brings together the worlds of psychotic dog owners and rabid winos. Continue Reading »

Source water at four of A Child's Right's school installation sites prior to filtration through A Child's Right systems
Source water at four of ACR’s school installation sites prior to filtration through our systems. Water high in terribly unsafe contaminants is evident in every part of the cities in Nepal.” (Kathmandu, Nepal)

Listen up people! A Child’s Right, the incredible water relief organization covered in the June/July issue, has issued a challenge: How much would someone have to pay you to drink a glass of dirty water? We’re not talking about over-oaked and over-alcoholed Chardonnay here, were talking about water with fecal waste, dirt, and bacterial contamination 209 times the safe standard. Continue Reading »
