NBC San Diego has staged and epic showdown between Stone Brewing Co. and Karl Strauss Brewing Company as to which brewery is San Diego’s favorite, Karl Strauss at 50% and Stone at 49.9%, and .1% lost somewhere in the universe.
Let’s go to the voters’ comments, and in fairness, we’ll take the most recent comments for both breweries:
Stone Brewery
Matt says: Great beers, always innovating and raising the bar. Amazing Escondido brewery to enjoy beer and great food. Non commercial or chain feel.
Karl Strauss
For the Love of Beer… says: Its not that hard people, click on the blue check box and vote Karl. Its that simple.
Dammit. Those comments don’t help me at all. And the slim margin doesn’t let me just jump on the bandwagon like I own the thing…This could go either way people!

Stone!! Their Ruination IPA is amazing and you can’t go wrong with their Russian Imperial Stout or Arrogant Bastard Ale.

Can’t say that I’ve tried Karl Strauss, but I’ve always liked Stone.

Anyone who voted for Karl Strauss has never tried Stone and is voting out of loyalty rather than by comparison.

@Soup: I think you need to check the expiration dates on your beers…

Both good breweries, but Stone leads the pack and named a beer Arrogant Bastard, enough said.
