P. Diddy to Start Selling Guinness and Red Stripe???
AdAge.com reported that P. Diddy is in talks with Diageo to promote its Guinness and Red Stripe brands. The announcement drew 3 comments by readers, all sharing the same perspective:
1) Oh boy! I can’t wait! Psych.
2) I am speechless. Just a terrible idea.
3) Why does anyone pay attention to this self-absorbed phony?
P. Diddy currently promotes another Diageo brand, Ciroc Vodka, in a deal that sends 50% of the brand’s profits to the hip hop mogul.
According to AdAge, “The musician-turned-entrepreneur, who teamed up with Diageo in 2007 to manage and promote its Ciroc vodka brand, has held talks with the British beverage behemoth about working on its Guinness and Red Stripe beer brands, according to people familiar with the matter.”
The real question is whether or not P. Diddy can sell fine beverages. Here is one of his Ciroc spots to find out:
Yup. I want that. Apparently drinking Ciroc makes you see the world in black and white and throw house parties where I wear sunglasses inside and get wasted with people I invited over to drink Ciroc. That looks delicious.

I really like Guinness and Red Stripe, but if he makes it hip to drink them then it’s time to stop drinking them. Besides anyone who gives themself their own nickname should not be allowed outside.
