The Great Google Mutiny

Alan Kropf / Wednesday, April 22, 2009

There are lots of ways to get to MutineerMagazine.com via Google. Here are a couple of sure bets, as identified by Mutineer web guru Jeff, who clearly has way too much time on his hands. Apparently he goes aimlessly Googling whenever he isn’t busy with the magazine or tending to his feral cats…

“Bacon Margarita” See results
1st Page, 7th Listing
That’s right! When that frantic bartender Googles “Bacon Margarita” on his iPhone, there is a great chance he’ll end up in the seedy underbelly of the Mutiny. What a badge of honor this is, so much so that I’m going to make my Internet browser home page the search results for “Bacon Margarita”.

“What Was in the Suitcase in Fear and Loathing” See results
1st Page, 3rd Listing
This was the part where Duke and Dr. Gonzo speed across the desert in the white whale. What was in the suitcase in Fear and Loathing? Beer, Tequila, Rum, and depending on how much you like to party, ether.

“Role Model Minotaur” See results
1st Page, 1st Listing
This is clearly a big draw for us. Who isn’t into an energy-drink themed truck that shoots fire out of its nostrils? Who knows where this search would’ve led if Mutineer wasn’t around. Logic would say to the 2nd listing, but I’d like to think that our sheriff-like presence on the “Role Model Minotaur” search results page is making a difference in the world.

“Bad Decisions of 2009″ See Results
1st Page, 1st Listing
Who knew Mutineer Magazine and bad decisions were buddies? Mutineer contributor Brian K.’s rant about Chelada has become the face of what is becoming a year known for bad decisions.

“Epic Success” See Results
1st Page, 1st Listing
How cool is this? You Google “epic success”, and the first listing is about how bloggers are an epic success. The rise of the blogger is upon us! Go bloggers, go!
