The blogosphere is buzzing about a temporary bar in London that offers gin and tonic vapors. In the air. It’s a cocktail, that you BREATHE! YES! Continue Reading »

I got pretty freaked out when I saw this on the Dreg’s Report, because it confirmed my suspicions that there are indeed spy cameras in Mutineer HQ. This is an exact replica of our old office at around 9 AM every day, right down to the Delong’s Wine Chart (which is awesome)…Bastards. Continue Reading »

Wine Library TV

Mutineer Magazine is lucky to have a killer group of advertisers supporting what we do. These companies have a commitment to fine beverage culture, and make some incredible fine beverages. I was at Wine Library on Thursday, April 9 to film an episode with Gary Vaynerchuk, and here are some of the brands he carries that have been a part of Mutineer Magazine: Continue Reading »

So…I was hanging at the Boston Wine School on Tuesday night for the Boston Mutineer Launch Party (blog about that forthcoming…), and apparently not being in-the-know about the “Dregs Report” is the wine media equivalent of spending prom night at home, alone, with cats. This was first made clear to me by wine writer Dale Cruse, who dropped by the event to get his back issues of Mutineer Magazine signed by yours truly. Cruse is kind of like the East Coast equivalent of Steve Heimoff, except he is credible, personable, and hasn’t written any books (that I know of). Continue Reading »

OK, so maybe this isn’t a full blown “arch-nemesis” situation ala Mutineer vs. Steve Heimoff, and the juiciest part of this story, which was posted on Coleman’s “Dr. Vino” blog, actually involves Dr. Vino (Tyler Coleman) and Parker contributor Jay Miller. Continue Reading »

It has been two weeks since Mutineer Magazine launched Nationally in major bookstores and newsstands, and early sales numbers are very promising. We’ve even been getting reports of locations selling out of their allotment. Some Borders locations carry this issue, whereas nearly all Barnes & Noble locations do have it available to purchase. If you want to know about Mutineer outlets near you, just email us and we’ll send you in the right direction. Continue Reading »

Every year the Brewers Association releases two lists of the top 50 breweries in the nation. One is the list of craft brewers and the other for all brewing companies. These show the growth of different breweries within the craft brewing industry itself and their place in the beer industry as a whole. Continue Reading »

Vieux Carre Absinthe

Spirit: Absinthe
Distillery: Philadelphia Distilling

Philadelphia Distilling has realeased Vieux Carre, their tribute to New Orleans and The French Quarter’s ties to absinthe. It is distilled through a process of double maceration, which enhances the quality and flavor of the product. The spirit includes an array of flavors that are the result of including Grande Wormwood, Petite Wormwood, Green and Star Anise, Fennel Doux Provence, Melissa, Genepi, Hyssop and Spearmint.

Philadelphia Distilling says that their product can be mixed with or without sugar. They recommend that the best mix to balance the product is three parts water, one part Vieux Carre, and skip the sugar.
