Mega Man, Mario and Link, enjoy a Rainier Beer while putting it on a hook

Of the 52,298 people that viewed this short video chronicling the angling adventures of classic Nintendo icons Mario, Link, and Mega Man, 72% thought it was “funny”, and apparently 28% want this video to “die”. The “Funny or Die” video for the song “Put It On A Hook” by Inhumans and Directed by Austin Valley features the 8-bit characters drinking some Rainier beer while they resort to extreme measures to catch a wily fish.

Rainier Beer

Rainier beer is an institution in the Pacific Northwest, though the brand has significantly faded over the last couple decades and is now brewed under contract in California. The brewery was officially founded in 1884 and remained a Seattle brewery until the mid 90s, when Pabst and Miller took up the reigns.

The iconic Mt. Rainier looms over Seattle

There is even a legend that Rainier owner Emil Sick bribed the government with free beer to get the naming rights of the epic Mt. Rainier near Seattle, and while this can’t be proven, we do know that Mr. Sick purchased a nearby Tacoma minor league baseball team who then became the Tacoma Rainiers.
