The folks at Bard’s had two missions: create a beer that everyone could enjoy and develop the ultimate Zombie Refuge Center (ZRC). Both of these have merit, but lets start with the beer.
Bard’s is a gluten free beer that those with celiac disease can sit down and enjoy with the rest of us. Owners Craig Belser and Kevin Seplowitz are both afflicted by celiac and this was the inspiration for the brewery. Celiac disease is a genetic misfortune that affects the digestion and immune system. It damages the intestines when someone with the disease comes into contact with or ingests a product containing gluten such as wheat, barley or rye. Using sorghum in place of the barley normally used in brewing beer Bard’s Brewery has given a new hope to the gluten free.
Next time you’re in the mall look for the ZRC if you’re in need of a mace, a shotgun, or maybe a chainsaw, or just some Bard’s beer. The website has assured me that this is the best place to retreat to when the inevitable zombie attack comes.
They are a busy group over at Bard’s, whether brewing beer, preparing for the zombie invasion, or educating the public on what to do in the event that you create a wormhole from the installation of a seemingly benign doggy door. Check out more great content at the Bard’s website.
