Kava is generally found in Hawaii and the Polynesian Islands. The Kava root is used in order to create a drink that is similar to alcohol, but has fewer drawbacks..There have never been any documented cases of Kava causing any harm to anyone. Consumption of Kava, unlike alcohol, will not leave you with a hangover the next morning. This is a great social drink. In fact it is usually only consumed as a celebratory beverage, in much the same way as alcohol.

Preparation of this drink is very simple. The root is pounded or ground and mixed with water. A few drinks of this brown, bitter concoction can lead to mild euphoria, feelings of peace, tranquility, contentment, reduced anxiety, depression and muscle pain. It has also been known to enhance mental alertness and concentration. If that’s not enough it was historically used as an aphrodisiac.
