Jessica Alba Narrowly Edges Out The Wine Mutineer in Winning Campari Calendar Deal

It was a battle of epic proportions. The fine people at Campari believe that a calendar full of Jessica Alba posing in swimsuits is better marketing than the Wine Mutineer in a smoking jacket with a four-hour cigar and tumbler of Campari on the rocks. Each month’s photo could be taken in a different Saddam ghost palace. The shots would look something like this:

Except there will be approximately sixty virgins in each photo to represent the approximately sixty ingredients in Campari.

Yes, Campari has sixty ingredients in it, and while it is typically enjoyed as a summer drink, Ms. Alba’s involvement with the Campari calender merited a post immediately.

Campari has been around for about 150 years and comes to us from Milan, Italy. With the right set of eyes you may have noticed Campari’s cameo appearance in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou:

Steve Zissou: Hey intern, get me a Campari.
Intern #1: On the rocks?
Steve Zissou: [thumbs up]

In Hemingway’s Farewell to Arms, Campari is the drink of choice for the main character Frederic Henry.

The fine folks over at Campari describe Campari as, “a bold red spirit, a unique blend of herbs and spices with orange as a predominant flavor. The base concentrate is a complex blend of herbs spices, and fruit peels that is later mixed with neutral alcohol and purified water.”

Campari and soda is a classic summertime drink, and one you should familiarize yourself with next time you find yourself in warmer climates.

Enjoy the photos.

    Is Jessica Alba single?

  2. Ron Washam, HMW | Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Jessica is hot, if talentless, but I still prefer her sister Barbera D. Alba.

Does it come in a screwtop? Jessica, not the Campari. Who drinks that cold medicine?

I didn’t know it cured colds too? I’m officially doubling my intake of Campari.

She’d be hotter if they stopped retouching the shit out of her…no one else is concerned that her hand and head are twice the size of the rest of her body? Never mind….I don’t know why I even bothered to answer that question here….of course you’re not concerned.
