Brewery: Williams Brewing Co.

What is the perfect food to pair with this beer?
“Perfect food is Roast game bird, Grouse or pheasant, as these birds live in the heather covered Glens of Scotland.”

Describe this ale in five words.
“Amber, floral, malty, dry wine like finish.”

Why should this be someone’s go to holiday beer?
“To celebrate the oldest style of Hogmanay beer in the world.”

Fraoch means “Heather” in ancient Gaelic, a language of Scotland. This recipe dates back to 2000 B.C. and may be the oldest style of ale still produced in the world. Using sweet gale and flowering heather to flavor this unique ale gives it an herbal flavor with a dry finish. Forget your normal routine and take your celebrations back to an ancient time of warriors and magicians.
