Jubelale

Beer: Deschutes Jubelale

Brewmaster: Larry Sidor

Brewery: Deschutes Brewery

What is the perfect food to pair with this beer?
“I love food so that’s a hard one, I would say broccoli cheddar soup would go great with that.”

Describe this ale in five words.
“Good nose. English hop beer.”

Why should this be someone’s go to holiday beer?
“It brings out all of the holiday passions we have, its spicy and at 6.5% alcohol you’ve got to be aware of that. It brings out the festivity in all of us.”

Not only is this the first beer bottled by Deschutes, they commission a different Northwest artist each year to create an image of the season. This year’s artist Pam Jersey Bird used the river of the same name as the brewery for her inspiration. The Jubelale is a perfect way to enjoy snowy winter days with its dark coffee and maple syrup flavors. This brew is only available from October to December so enjoy it while you can.

I just googled Deschutes Jubelale and looked at the images. I found the 2007 and another older one that didn’t have a date. The 2007 is really cool as well.
