Sam Caglione - the mastermind behind Dogfish Head - and his wife (Sommelier and Wine Educator) have been hosting wine versus beer tasting dinners for years now. In fact, the issue became so popular that they collaborated on a book together entitled "He Said Beer, She Said Wine."

My Blog post on the book:

If I did not live so far from Charleston, I would definitely make it to this event! I have been yearning to write a blog on the parallels between wine and beer. You see, although I am a beer blogger and aspiring beer connoisseur ... I am currently studying for wine educator certification and eventually pursuing all levels of sommelier certification.

I am pretty disappointed in the wine industry's overall lack of appreciation for beer. But that is another rant and rave for another time.

Thanks for the event post!

Cheers!

Well as the Beer Mutineer I have to say that the complexity of beer and its huge range of styles and flavors allows it to pair better than wine. Also the ingredients of beer so closely resemble the food we eat that it makes sense to pair it with food. We will see.....
