Stuck in the Middle

For me the beach has always signified relaxation. It just so happens this is the home of Beachwood BBQ. The signage atop the door reminds me of 60’s pop culture, inviting and colorful. Twenty-six taps and thirty-eight bottles available now and Chef/Proprietor Gabriel Gordon tells me that about twenty more bottles are coming soon. Click here for beer list.

Besides the best beer in the area the food is a superstar here. Dry rubbed brisket smoked for fourteen hours, and real ribs smoked for four hours. Coming from Texas I know BBQ and this is the real deal. My suggestion though would have to be the fried green tomato sandwich, served with smoked mozzarella, basil, balsamic and Tabasco vinaigrette on a potato bun, hell yes. I now have to find my way here for a lunch break every trip from Los Angeles to San Diego; it’s too good to miss.

I need some good food and amazing beer. I’m dying out here. I’ll definitely swing through here my next go-around on the West coast.
