If you live in Los Angeles and don’t have any plans tonight, head over to Bottle Rock in Culver City. The fine people at Bottle Rock just sent me an e-mail saying that in celebration of Election Day you can enjoy wine at retail prices, which means huge savings on wine.
Ok, hold on, what is Bottle Rock?

Bottle Rock is a KILLER place in Culver City. Some people call it a wine bar, but it boasts one of the best beer lists in Los Angeles, so this does not do it justice. I don’t like to call it a bar, because the food is so incredible. I don’t like to call it a restaurant because it is so laid back and fun, much like a bar. And on top of this, there is a pseudo-retail wine shop inside as well.

We are doing a piece on Bottle Rock in the upcoming issue of Mutineer Magazine, so rather than reading the piece and getting all excited to go check it out, beat the rush and check it out tonight while they are giving you the awesome deal.
Check the website for more info.

Definitely sounds like a sweet place to check out on a Friday night. Any dish that you recommend?

Their version of a tuna melt is to die for. The cheese plate is pretty awesome as well. If I can make on recommendation, it is to trust the palate of the Sommelier George, he is incredibly friendly and pours some incredible wines you won’t find other places.

Black truffle grilled cheese sandwich is so DELICIOUS as is the Ahi tuna, with the unlikely, yet excellent pairing with a Cotes de Catalanes Cinsault and Grenache!

Mike at Bottle Rock has put together a fine beer list. This in itself is enough to bring me back, but the food totally blew me away. Get over there!
