DueS

As we enter the holiday season many people will be purchasing Champagne to heighten the merriment and festivities surrounding the many parties and events they will be attending. This year instead of Champagne branch out and try something new. Get a bottle of Bière de Champagne.

Bière de Champagne is a highly carbonated, delicate beer that is usually brewed in Belgium. Just by looking, these beers could be mistaken for a bottle of Champagne, as the 750 ml bottle has the same cap and cork of a bottle of Champagne. The mouth feel is similar as well because of its pinpoint effervescence, but the flavor is totally different from Champagne or any other beer.

The easiest to find is DeuS, brewed by Brouwerij Bosteels of Belgium, and costs about $20 a bottle. After fermentation in Belgium the beer is sent to France where it is bottled and disgorged, as are Champagne bottles. Serve your Bière de Champagne in a fluted stemmed glass and revel in your new tasting experience.

Holy shit, that sounds fantastic! Anything like a Hefe Weiss? Just curious how it’s made. I need to get me some of that!!!

Quite a bit different then a Hefe Weiss, but DeuS is amazing.
