This weekend Mutineer Magazine will attend the Seattle Food and Wine Experience at Qwest Field in Seattle. Given the 1 and 5 record of the under-achieving Seahawks, the opportunity to drink away one’s sorrows should make this event a hit.
I cruised over to the “Who’s Pouring” section of the website to highlight some of my favs…this proved difficult as a lot of great wineries will be pouring their wines, so unfortunately you are on your own facing the un-difficult task of wandering aimlessly from table to table trying killer wines.
The “Featured Wine Region” is…Napa? Really? No disrespect to the fine winemakers of the Napa Valley, but come on…Napa is doing fine for publicity. My votes would’ve been:
1) An Eastern Washington wine region
2) Southern Oregon
3) Willamette Valley
There will be a bunch of great restaurants at the event, most notable to me is “Salish Lodge”, one of the world’s most beautiful restaurants and the place where I broke up with not one, but TWO girlfriends. Ah, memories…
At $59 a ticket, this event is an INCREDIBLE VALUE. I highly recommend checking it out, especially if you haven’t done this sort of thing before. If you are traveling to Seattle specifically for this event, be sure to check out the wineries of the Woodinville area about 15 minutes north of Seattle. This is a beautiful area doing some great wine using fruit from Eastern Washington wine regions.
All of this is a benefit for “Heroes for the Homeless”. You can get more info and buy tickets at:
