Cristal Cerveza

Cristal knows how to market a product! I’ve never enjoyed Cristal, which I’m sure is a top-notch beer (or Cerveza), so I set out to learn. I found myself on this website: www.cristal.com.pe.

Upon arriving at Cristal’s website, I’m greeted with: “Para visitar nuestra pagina web necesitas ser mayor de edad.” Yes…this website is going to be GREAT. I answer with an energetic “Si” and proceed.

This website has the most rockin’ salsa music I’ve ever exposed my ears to, and my tiny computer speakers are trembling under the bombastic load they are forced to handle. The music is part of a video playing on the site – using magic to show how grain and hops are combined to make Cristal. It’s pretty psychedelic, because the music shifts up a key during the video, and the video is only about 20 seconds long, so every time the video starts over, it sounds like it is starting over in a lower key, and if you listen to the video thirty times in a row, it really starts messing with your mind.

I don’t speak Spanish, so my options are limited on the Cristal website. It really starts to piss me off when I try and buy a sweet Cristal baseball cap and ash tray. I can see a picture of both on the site, but I can’t figure out how to make them mine.

Hopefully I’ll get the chance to enjoy this beverage of beverages someday, but for now all I have is a sweet ad and some great music.
